Truman & Cooper make us discover their brand new film: the music video « Slow Sunday » for the French band Théodore, Paul & Gabriel (label Belleville Music).

From the very beginning, Théodore, Paul & Gabriel wanted a love story in a dance ball, with an intense delight's ending. Truman & Cooper took the project and added an oneiric and fantastic spirit. The action takes place in a dancing which could be located in a lost village of the United-States, a young man then meets a young woman and... we topple with him.

The ambiguity about the existence of the woman is essential because underlines the deliberately mysterious ambiance of the story. The band looks like enchanting guides in a lyric atmosphere, which leads to believe that this story is sublimated, even fantasized: at the frontier of the unreal.

The idea is to show the extreme intensity of the emotion that a young man may feel during a romantic encounter, and the doubts, the fear that can assail him.

Truman & Cooper managed a harmonious mix that combines cinematic references such as David Lynch or Wes Anderson, and a television universe of American TV shows from the nineties.

With this music video, they notably show their master of mix media thanks to a huge post-production work on the second half of the film.

This is an organization which coaches young Flemish designers and helps them to promote their work.
The FFI celebrates their 15th birthday this year, and  they wanted a film to put this in the spotlight.

The FFI contacted Helvetica through SPUTNIK MEDIA and asked them to work out a concept for this film.
So they chose for a collage-esque approach: concentrating on three pillars. One: The number 15 (hence their 15th Birthday). Two: The material 'crystal'. Because a 15th anniversary is also called a crystal anniversary. Three: Flemish fashion.

It was important for Helvetica to incorporate as well the highlights of Flemish fashion over this 15 year period, as to show young and upcoming design talent. Lot's of big designers granted permission to use their top pieces. For instance: Maison Martin Margiela, Haider Ackerman, An Demeulemeester, Tim Van Steenbergen, Christian Wynants.

For the music of the film Helvetica got the kind permission of the band Hong Kong Dong, their eclectic sound fits amazingly well with the images.
The firework scene was improvised at the spot, because when they left to the set in the morning they remembered that they still had some fireworks from a another shoot laying around. They decided to take it with them, to see if they could use it. And they sure did. ;-)

The scene with the owl was contrary to their expectations super easy to film. They shot it in under half an hour. That the owl was very hungry helped them a lot to keep him flying always in the same trajectory.

The film premiered at the LONDON fashion week, and was also to be seen on the PARIS fashion week.

Nic & Sune met at school in London, this Englo-Norwegian duo, alias Nic Osborne and Sune Maroni, notably distinguish themselves by their humour. They perfectly understand the art of "Storytelling" and have a irreproachable acting direction; their films tell us atypical stories on a funny and irresistible tone.

The duo has already well managed to exist on the international market and received lots of awards, in New York, Shanghai, etc. Their films are often shortlisted in Cannes, and in 2006 they win a silver Lion for "Berlitz". In 2007 the pretigious magazine "Shots" rewards this film with the Grand Prix among the 100 best ads in the world!

Sometimes the client or the agency ask the director not to communicate on a project in their portfolio. It is often a clause of the contract, so a close attention is strongly advised while reading it!

Regarding this new Sebas & Clim's film, it is the will of the client to keep it secret. Nevertheless he accepted that the directors use it if they hid the brand.

This talented director studied animation at Supinfocom and his graduation film "En garde" immediately got noticed: it made the official selection in several festivals, including Annecy and the London International Animation Festival.

In 2011 he was rewarded at the Young Director's Award for his music video "Esther's" by Amon Tobin. This oppressive and sensitive film plunges us into a relationship in which the boundary between love and insanity is paperthin...

Charles De Meyer seems to love suspenseful direction, also playing with tension and anxiety in Raveyards - Remember, and always served by high-quality shots. In 2012, he even won a Young Director's Award for this film!

The idea was to show a talking dolphin that adresses people passing by his real size tank, in a playful way. This was following a film campaign starring megan fox, in which she managed to create a machine able to translate dolphin's talk into a human voice.

The turnaround for the project was challenging as they had 4 weeks to create a real size photo, real dolphin animation of 2 min length with a seamless loop!

The installation was launched simultaneously in in many cities across europe before christmas and received a great success.

After being selected in many festivals and having noatbly won the great Canal + award at Clermont, the film is finally released on Internet with a highlighting on ShortOfTheWeek. Their next film has already been pre-bought by canal+!

Robert Ebb also won the clap 89 Art direction award (Paris), the best screenplay (Puteaux), and the audience award at the Utopiales Sci Fi (Nantes)...

Their universe, both realistic and sensitive, seems marked by a merry nostalgia, as shown in the music video “The King or the Bird” de Yellow Son, in which a grown-up man does not seem to want to give up on his child dreams.

This music video won the Grand Prix of the jury at Protoclip festival in 2013.

Besides the duo benefits from a strong experience in graphism, VFX  for cinema and advertising, which enables them to develop various projects, in live action or mix-media.

For that mater, they are actually working on a new music video, for the band Théodore, Paul & Gabriel, which mixes live and graphism. You will probably let yourself get carried away by this melancholic title...
